IMG_3394Believe it or not, it’s been 15 months since the Good Eats on Oak Lawn closed its doors. It seemed like it was taking forever for something else to open in the space. Well, it took… 15 months. Part of the space is now occupied by a new eatery.
East Hampton Sandwich Co. is a Dallas-based mini-chain of sandwich shops (the Oak Lawn location is the company’s fourth) that hopes to tap into the homey market of satisfying food that Good Eats also fed (pun intended). With options like a traditional lobster roll (at $16, the priciest item on the menu) to a chicken parm sandwich (pictured) to a classic childhood favorite, the fluffernutter (peanut butter and marshmallow fluff on toast; it’s on the kids’ menu but for sale to adults as well), it has the makings of a new lunch stop for the gayborhood crowd. And since it just opened officially this Monday, this might be a good time to check it out.
