Dallas police are investigating a murder that happened around 2 a.m. today (Friday, April 17) near City Park, just south of I-30 and just west of I-45, according to information on the Dallas Police Department blog. The victim was “a man who presented as female,” according to police.
Dallas Voice has yet to determine whether police are saying the victim was a transgender woman or if they are referring to a man dressed in women’s clothing.
The victim has not been publicly identified, and DPD’s public information office said the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office “will assist with identifying the victim.”
According to police reports, DPD officers responded at 2:19 a.m. to a shooting call in the 1800 block of Park Row Avenue. A preliminary investigation “determined that a person was shot by an unknown suspect.”
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital where they died, reports say.
