Dallas police are investigating two incidents that occurred early Sunday morning, April 19, in the Oak Lawn Gayborhood, according to information from the DPD Public Information Office.
At 3:18 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3700 block of Maple Avenue, between Oak Lawn Avenue and Welbourn Street, near the 7-11 convenience store at the intersection of Oak Lawn and Maple.
Reports indicate that an unknown suspect shot a victim at that location, and the suspect then left scene before police arrived. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim, “in an unknown condition,” to a nearby hospital.
Investigation into the shooting is ongoing and is documented under case number 055565=2026.
Crisis intervention call
At about 6:57 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a crisis intervention with ambulance call in the 3300 block of Hudnall Street. Preliminary investigation determined that a 23-year-old suspect had assaulted a suspect at that location.
The suspect was arrested and charged with “assault, family violence — offensive contact.
Investigation into this incident is ongoing and is documented under case number 055603-2026, police said.
