We wrote recently about Dallas’ Central Business District as a hip place for LGBT folks to congregate, and the organization Downtown Dallas has just furthered our point. Starting tomorrow, the group is sponsoring a free outdoor movie series to help you “Discover Downtown,” called Witty Wednesdays … which, of course, means gay. (Ahem.) Each month, a series of films will be projected onto a huge inflatable movie screen at a different Downtown locale — Belo Garden on Main Street for April, the Farmers Market for May, the Arts District for June, then the West End and the Omni Hotel in the fall. And most of the films, natch, have a queer sensibility — starting tomorrow with The Devil Wears Prada. (A full schedule of announced movies is below, subject to change, of course.)
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, a chair and picnic (or dine early at an area restaurant). There will even be costume contests and giveaways… and the gays love to dress up and get free stuff. All films start at 8 p.m.
