Randall Merlin McTaggart
Randy McTaggart, 48, died at Baylor Hospital in Dallas on Aug. 10, 2011. He was surrounded in the love of family and friends. A memorial service was held Aug. 14 at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland.
Born Sept. 10, 1962, in Washington state, Randy lived many places in the U.S. as a child with his mother, stepfather and two siblings, before settling in Dallas where he spent his teen years. He studied public relations at the University of Texas at Dallas. Randy loved his work as a real estate agent, helping families purchase new homes. Randy worked until his passing with RE/MAX Premier Properties. Randy volunteered for many organizations over the years … always willing to lend a helping hand … and particularly enjoyed serving Christmas dinner every year at the Pleasant Grove Senior Center.
Survivors include his parents, Robbie and Warren Litzman of Dallas, and Robert McTaggart of Oregon; brother Rodney, his wife Lisa and their children, Chase and Nicholas; sister Teresa, her husband Tim Ferraro and their children, Anna, Anthony, Amelia and Aidan. Randy was preceded in death by his partner, Steve Tarver,
in 1994.
Friends will gather from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 10 (Randy’s Birthday) at the Brick in Dallas to have drinks and tell stories about Randy prior to GA GA for GO GO, the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund event.

Charles Poole
Charles Poole, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 4. He is survived by his loving friends, family and loyal customers. He was the owner of Carpet Cleaning by Charles for more than 40 years and took great pride in his profession and workmanship. He graduated from SMU with a degree in accounting and worked in that field for several years before starting his carpet cleaning business. Poole was a long-time member the Unitarian Church, a tutor at several Dallas schools and a loyal friend. On the back of his pick-up truck were written these words: “We are all family: We all have value.” He lived these words with integrity and honor. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 3 p.m. at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with the Revs. Walt and Barbara Marcum presiding. Donations can be made in his memory to the schools where he tutored: Obediah Knight Elementary and T.V. Rusk Middle School.
