Despite reports last week that a clause in a new law being considered in Uganda imposing the death penalty on repeat offenders accused of homosexuality, TheAdvocate.com reports today that the death sentence remains part of the proposed legislation.
David Bahati, main sponsor of the bill, has presented the measure to the Ugandan parliament will be debated within the next two weeks and is expected to become law by February.
Bahati told the U.K. paper The Guardian he would not cave to international pressure to tone down the bill’s sentencing provisions, saying the death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality” is necessary to “stop the recruitment and secure the future of our children.”

Meanwhile, South Africa bounded ahead of us by legalizing Gay Marriage in 2006.

The United States of America is as responsible for this legislation as Uganda itself.
For when the leader of the free world creates laws and legislation that directly harms and discriminates against gay citizens, the rest of the world perceives the A-OK from America that gay citizens are to be treated as second-class citizens by Government.
That Uganda has applied its own barbaric twist to it should not be a surprise to ANY gay citizen ANYWHERE.
It is not only in Uganda that they wish to kill us. It is all over the world, and certainly right here in our own country.
This is the beginning of a world-wide religious genocide against gay citizens. This legislation in Uganda will spread to other barbaric countries and will ultimately land in the lap of the United States.
That a heterosexual human being is even able to utter the word ‘morality’ in 2009 without immediately bursting into flames is proof of no God. It makes me physically ill to imagine what kind of a species (heterosexuals) are even CAPABLE of this type of behavior toward their very own offspring.

Four reasons why we Africans will defend our culture;
1- The people of Uganda existed and survived before the WEST came in to give “support” and will continue to survive with or without handouts from abroad.
We would rather live in grass huts with our morality than in skyscrapers among homosexuals.
2-We Ugandans will ignore criminal colonialists, descendants of slave traders and imperialists who are keen to undermine and berate African societies with their homosexual neo-colonialism. Homosexual tendency is a birth/behavioral defect. The perverted homosexual behavior IS LEARNED. Persecution of gays has been part of / and is still part of Western history also most recently by the nazis and communists.
3-So after allowing gays, next is bestiality, pedophilia ? Human right to sleep with your dog, cat, horse etc…?
I just pity men who want to wear pumpers like little ones because the anal sphincters can no longer hold! Homosexuality is simply unnatural and countries which claim to be “liberal” should better learn to respect us. After all we never mingle in their internal affairs.

4- Seriously though, if you care so much about men who have anal sex with other men, why not invite them over and give them asylum. That way your headache will be cured and you will have helped remove an abomination from our midst.

If almost all Ugandans are so negative towards homosexuality, why is it necessary with draconian punishment to stop homosexuality in Uganda? Shouldn’t the strong anti-gay sentiment be enough?
And why would bestiality and pedophilia be next? Most people who are against the act would say that acts done in private between consenting adults are not the business of the lawmakers – clearly sex involving children and animals does not fall within this category.
This myth about gay men engaging in anal sex needing to wear diapers (or pumpers as you call it) is simply not correct – can you refer to any research supporting this claim?
If the main purpose of the act is to prevent anal sex to protect people against its dangers (which, as I stated, you clearly overstate), why criminalise lesbian sex (which does not involve anal penetration)? And why not penalise anal sex between straight people? And other “dangerous” forms of sex, such as all sado-masochistic practices?
You talk about mingling in your internal affairs. Well, dear Ugandan Native, since Uganda has signed up to various legally binding human rights treaties that protects certain basic rights of ALL human beings, including people with sexual feelings for members of their own sex, it is actually the business of the international community when Uganda is about to pass bills that would contravene Uganda’s obligations under such acts.

PS Interesting, by the way, that you seem to use persecution of gays by naziz and communist in Europe as your model. Does that mean that you also consider Nazi Germany’s persecution of jews, romas (gypsies), mentally handicapped, homosexuals etc as their own internal affairs for nobody else to mingle with?
The matter is simple and has existed for millenia. Submission or rebellion. It is interesting that Bill revealingly denies the existence of GOD. It is equally telling that even the supporters of “morality” are shy to cite Commandments regarding interpersonal relations. The global psyche has moved so far away from Divine Guidance that such direction is seldom even considered as a valid argument. The Ugandan native should be applauded for seeking to “preserve his culture”. However what of the human culture. We were created to submit to GOD. Obey HIM. Is that not part of the moral of the story of Adam & Eve, of Sodom and Gommorah? Adam & Eve disobeyed. Sodom and Gommorah were rebellious in their perversity. Yes, they should be killed.
