Frank Marion Smith IV, 46, of Round Rock died May 27. He was born Oct. 2, 1964, in Kaufman and raised in Dallas. He had lived in Round Rock for the past 10 years. He was a freelance artist known as Frankie or Frank Smith who signed his work with a star over his name. He was active in the LGBT community in Dallas in the 1990s and often contributed to charitable causes.

Smith was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Bray Dewees. He is survived by his partner, Kenneth Dye of Round Rock; father, Frank Marion Smith III of Arlington; sisters, Toie Levinrad of Citrus Springs, Fla., Halaina Walsh of Arlington, Carrie Throgmorton of Allen, Elizabeth Barber of Alexandria, La., and Tammy Dewees of Dallas; brothers, Paul Dewees and Richard Dewees Jr. of Alexandria, La., and Mark Smith of McKinney; stepfather, Richard Dewees Sr., of Alexandria, La.; nieces, Candice Hobson of Savannah, Ga., Haygen Walsh of Arlington, Alee Dewees, of Alexandria, La., and Bre Anna Dewees of Dallas; and nephews, Brandon Hobson of Gulf Shores, Ala., Cory Dickson of Jacksonville, N.C., and Austin Lilly, Ethan Barber and Luke Dewees of Alexandria, La.
