Retiring Dallas Tavern Guild Executive Director Michael Doughman

Michael Doughman, who has been executive director of the Dallas Tavern Guild for 17 years, will retire after the 2018 Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. He plans to retire in Puerto Vallarta.

In a statement, the Dallas Tavern Guild said, “We want to thank Michael for his years of his faithful service to the guild and helping Dallas Pride become what it is today.”

The Tavern Guild produces Dallas Pride, which includes the Festival in the Park and the Pride parade.

Now, the hunt is on for a new executive director to help lead Dallas Pride and not only continue it’s success but take the event and make it a nationally and internationally recognized event that attracts visitors from across North America and the world, the organization said in a press release announcing the position opening.

The announcement said:

We are looking for a motivated self starter who can help take Dallas Pride to new levels. The next executive director will be tasked with growing our pride celebration into one that people talk about being among the best in the country and world. They need to bring fresh new ideas to the table and not be afraid to break the mold in their quest to deliver the ultimate pride experience. They will achieve this with the help of the Dallas Pride Steering Committee along with the members of the Dallas Tavern Guild.

The position will pay a base salary of $50,000 a year plus a commission on new and returning sponsorships.
