Dallas Pride is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15 at Fair Park, the organization’s CEO and Executive Director Sherrell Cross confirmed today (Wednesday, March 19).
Cross’ confirmation came in response to rumors that the annual Pride Music Festival could not be held at Fair Park on Saturday, June 14, because another large event, the Juneteenth Festival of Service, is scheduled that day in the Automobile Building, which Pride has in the past used to house The Family Pride Zone and Teen Pride events.
Cross said both Family Pride Zone and Teen Pride will be part of the Dallas Pride Music Festival as always and will simply be moved to a different part of the park.
She said she has spoken with the Juneteenth Festival of Service organizers, and all parties agree both events can take simultaneously, without either event affecting the other.
The Dallas Pride Music Festival, Teen Pride and Family Pride Zone will all be held on Saturday, June 14, at Fair Park. While in past years, vendors were only able to participate on the first day of the weekend-long celebration, last year organizers open up the morning of the second day of the event — the parade day — to vendors as well. That extension of the festival, Cross said, continues this year, allowing vendors to have their keep their booths open from 11 a.m. on Saturday up until just before the Dallas Pride Parade begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at no extra charge
Festival registration and Parade registration are open now. Sponsorship opportunities are also available at various levels for Dallas Pride weekend.
