Dallas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett was appointed to the powerful House Judiciary Committee as she begins her second term in office.
She was re-appointed to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and will no longer be serving on the House Agriculture Committee.
“As a public defender, civil rights and criminal defense attorney, state representative, and now United States congresswoman, I have dedicated the past two decades to advocating for the most vulnerable individuals in our society and leveling the playing field for justice-impacted individuals,” Corckett said in a press release. “I am honored to continue my fight for justice as a member of the House Judiciary Committee and look forward to protecting Americans’ civil rights and liberties, upholding the Constitution, and improving the administration of justice throughout America’s criminal legal system.”
