Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins

“We intentionally modeled the public health guidelines based on the Governor’s recommendations, never imagining he did not want his own guidelines followed,” County Judge Clay Jenkins said in an emailed statement. “I ask the public to make decisions based on the recommendations of public health professionals: our lives depend on it. You can find recommendations from local public health experts at www.DallasCountyCOVID.org by downloading Dallas County COVID-19 Health Guidance for the Public.”

  1. God bless Clay. Even Mayor Johnson seems flummoxed. I went to college with Paxton. He’s always been smarmy.

  2. It’s a sad day in Dallas when John Wiley Price is the voice of reason. Clay Jenkins is no Abbott, Patrick or Paxton. Dallas County Election can’t come soon enough

  3. State guidelines recommend wearing a mask, it does not mandate that it must be done. Judge Jenkins getting spanked for his over reach again.

  4. Why can’t people agree to wear masks in enclosed spaces and places? I can’t understand why this simple way to protect everyone is so controversial. If everyone would wear a mask we could go back to a much more normal life. Who is opposed to protecting the elderly and immune compromised individuals by wearing a mask?

  5. Abbott and Paxton — what a team. With them at the helm Texas will be one of the last states to recover from the pandemic, and our economy will be in the toilet for a number of years.

  6. I have to agree with Clay Jenkins. Unfortunately, this pandemic has become a political thing. I choose to believe health experts and the CDC. Paxton and Abbott , to my knowledge, do not have a medical background. (Paxton majored in Psychology). They are sending mixed messages. I have followed this very closely. Abbot’s statements of declining infection rates reflect from only one week, Not the weekly averages. Texas leads the nation in the fewest CV19 tests per capital. (Judge Jenkins report). Following CDC guidelines of 2 week decline with daily averages. Dallas has NOT met this requirement.

  7. I have voted Republican since the 1980’s, but am fed up with the likes of Paxton and Abbott and totally appreciate Judge Jenkins.

  8. I would vote for Judge Jenkins for Governor in a heartbeat. Governor Cuomo for President would get my vote. There was a message from Mayor
Eric Johnson in the paper the other day. He is definitely not taking the lead in any of this, and I wish he would. I have a sign on my front door
that reads: Mask and gloves required; we provide shoe covers. We wear our masks because we choose freely to do all we can to protect
the health and safety of ourselves and others during this uncertain time. We take our “suggestions”, “recommendations”, and marching
orders from Dr. Fauci, the CDC, WHO, NIH, and Mayo researchers and from Judge Jenkins and Dr. Huang. Neither my husband nor I
can understand this small contingent of nay-sayers who are refusing to wear masks, refusing to maintain distance, refusing to self-
isolate, etc. They obviously care for no one but themselves and nothing but the temper tantrums they are exhibiting. They are, in the
words of an Inuit elder, the “heedless ones among us”.

  10. The only local persons we pay any attention to are Judge Jenkins and Dr. Huang. The only national person we pay attention to is Fauci. Why would you listen to anyone else?
