She may have missed the big dance, but Constance McMillen is about to get world’s best prom video. This exclusive info comes via Deadline Hollywood:
One of the rare cases where the bullying led to a happy ending – the story of rural Mississippi lesbian high school student Constance McMillen who successfully sued the local school district for discrimination – will become a TV movie for ABC Family. The project, in early stages of development, hails from Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and Sony Pictures TV who have optioned the rights to McMillen’s story. Ghost Whisperer creator/executive producer John Gray will write the script and is expected to direct.
No word on titles. Our three suggestions: (1) “Rented Limos are Kinda Gauche Anyway,” (2) “You Planned to do the Macarena, Yet I’m The Problem?”, or (3) “Constance McMillen: Spiking the Punch Bowl with her Sapphic Sweetness.” Feel free to use them, producers!
