Two concerts are around the corner that are most likely polarizing in their audiences.
If you dig the oonce-oonce of electronica and dance, it might be a must to head to the Electric Daisy Carnival June 19. Think of it like a one-day techno equivalent to Austin City Limits. Of all places, Fair Park is home to the DJ/techno festival with  a slew of artists giving up the tunes in spots such as Neon Garden and Kinetic Field. But you’ll want to hit up the Cosmic Meadow at 10 p.m. The highlight of the night is going to Moby’s DJ set. You won’t hear him perform “South Side” or any of his hits on his own, but he may sneak some of his tracks into the list of songs he’ll be serving up. Other artists on the lineup include Kaskade, Hoyotoho, Dieselboy and locals Raydar and Shaolin.
Tickets are $45–$80 and include admission to all four stages, free carnival rides and fully stocked bars. No word if Fletcher’s Corny Dogs will be on hand. Tickets to the After Daisy after- party at Lizard Lounge are $10.

Prefer classic campy country to techno? You can’t miss out with Tanya Tucker at Billy Bob’s this Saturday. Her brand of country music was always on the kitschy side of the C&W spectrum, but she grabbed the gays attention by appearing as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Seriously, if she’s never going to get back to Reba proportions, might as well go for the gays. Them and  old school country music fans.

This past decade, she’s mostly released compilations of hits or live albums but last year’s My Turn was a fairly decent honkytonker album of classic country tunes.

Tickets are $15–$26 and available here.
