Dallas City Hall will raise the official city Pride flag on Friday, May 29 at 5 p.m. on the plaza.
By city ordinance, the official flag of the city of Dallas during the month of June is a specially designed Dallas Pride flag. It sports the city seal in the middle, identical to the city flag the rest of the year, but instead of a red, white and blue background, the June flag overlays the seal on a rainbow.
The Dallas Pride flag flies over city properties like Love Field and Dallas Police headquarters during June.
San Antonio is the only other city in the U.S. that has adopted a Pride month flag.
Raising the flag at City Hall has become the annual opening of Pride month ritual. Everyone is welcome.
On Thursday, June 4, City Hall continues its commemoration of Pride month with a photo exhibit, awards and a reception with Pride cake inthe lobby of City Hall at noon.
