I blogged Monday in Queer Music News that singer George Michael has been hospitalized in Austria due to pneumonia. In that post, I added that Fox News reported there is speculation that his illness is much more severe than being let on. This appears to have spawned the group Christians for a Moral America to action and have called for the singer’s demise.
Huffington Post’s Gay Voices posted tweets by Kyle (@GodsWordIsLaw) from Nov. 26 about their intentions. His profile cites @CFAMABlog as the group’s official feed. From HuffingtonPost.com:
After the Daily Mail reported that Michael’s family and long-time partner Fadi Fawaz had gathered at his bedside in Vienna, Christians For A Moral America took to Twitter, claiming the singer “has AIDS” and calling for followers to pray for the his demise in light of his “satanic lifestyle.”

Funny, as a devoted follower of Christ, my Bible says to prayer for others, not curse them. Indeed, these folks need to check their hearts and re-read the following:
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Matt 7: 3-5 – Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
I pray that God will draw near to George, bringing healing, hope, love, grace and forgiveness – as He does to all of us who put our trust in Him.
These folks are about as far from Christian as I can imagine.
This Christian doesn’t agree with christians for a moral america. It’s not moral to call for the demise of another human, no matter what the idealogical disagreement is. That’s not Biblical and it’s anti-christian across the board. Excuse me, but a True Christian would never pray for the demise of another. If anything they would pray for Salvation. oh yes, and btw, God Made everyone in his own image. This is what gives us Christians a bad name. Aren’t we supposed to love one another no matter what?

I am willing to bet that George Michael does have Aids. The doctor at the hospital gave a large clue to that when he spoke of George Michael being treated for pneumonia, saying George was being treated like anyone else who has this DISEASE. Pneumonia is not a disease, it is a viral infection….a disorder.
Make no mistake about it, George has AIDS. He refused to get tested since 2004 and it has caught up with him. What could he expect though since he loves to pick up strange men in park bathrooms.

I can’t believe that these people dare call themselves Christians. I thought Christianity was about love and forgiveness. I for one wish him a speedy recovery from his PNEUMONIA , anything else is pure speculation and rumour and shouldn’t be spoken about as though it’s fact.

I don’t agree with anyone praying for his demise, but if he does have AIDS, he brought it on himself. This man is dirty. It doesn’t matter to me if you’re gay or you’re straight if you have unprotected sex then don’t cry when you get sick. I worked at an AIDS clinic. Let me tell you… AIDS is a terrible disease. Worse than Cancer. You know why? Because its a lonely disease. These people are lonely, and hardly get any visitors. I feel sorry for the ones that got it through no fault of their own, but when you’re having sex without protection, using drugs, and just being dirty…. I have no pity. So, if he’s got it… Oh, well… he should have thought of that sooner.

Seriously why would anyone wish for someone else’s death – I cannot believe what kind of people are on this earth !! Can we also stop this speculation about George Michael – he unfortunately is not well enough to put an end to these rumours, but time will show when he is back on stage in front of his fans, who really care for him & are finding this gossip rather offensive & upsetting. I saw him 28th Oct @ London Royal Albert Hall & he was simply amazing with the Orchestra & looking forward to seeing him again in the future, once he is over this nasty spell of pneumonia!!!

As a Christian I can say we are not to judge but we are commanded to tell people that there will be a judgment for our actions in this life and when we stand before Christ. This is not just for homosexuality but also for adultery, lust, stealing, lying.. etc. The Bible clearly shows homosexuality is a sin. It also spreads disease. As a Christian I hope that George Michael will repent (not just him but that all will repent of their sin) I hope he puts away his sin and follows Christ.

In the very first sentence, you plainly state “we are not to judge”, and then you proceed to do exactly that in the next few sentences. YOU might think homosexuality is a sin, but there is no evidence to support that statement. (I know. “The bible says…” But the bible was written by infallible humans, just like you and me.) And clearly you have a keen interest in homosexuality and/or you have strong homosexual tendencies, otherwise you wouldn’t be visiting dallasvoice.com.
