The Coalition for Aging LGBT announced its ninth annual summit on LGBT aging for April 4 at The Senior Source, 3910 Harry Hines Blvd, from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The event is free of charge thanks to Sandy Anderson’s successful fundraising.

Attorney Derek Mergele-Rust is the keynote speaker. His topic is “Legal Documents needed for all LGBT seniors.

Participants will also have the opportunity to attend two break-out sessions. Counselor Brian Kennedy will present “Aging with HIV. The Guardian Angels will offer “Self Defense for Seniors. And Angie Mabry will discuss “Long-term Care Insurance.”

The Alzheimer’s Association will present an open plenary discussing “Brain Health.”

Dallas Voice will be among a number of organizations at the Resource Expo. Insurance, investment and recreation companies and nonprofits will also offer their services. Representatives of the Dallas Police Department and the Latino Culinary Institute are scheduled to attend.

A light breakfast and a wonderful lunch are also included at no charge.
