In its first study to redistribute equipment in 25 years, the city of Dallas has decided that one of the fire trucks from Station 11 on Cedar Springs Road should be sent to south Oak Cliff near Duncanville.

Oak Lawn residents responded with a Facebook page and urged calls to Councilwoman Angela Hunt, whose district includes that side of Cedar Spring Road. The Facebook page Save DFD Truck 11 had about 500 “likes” by Friday morning. A Blogspot website has also been created.

A video report from WFAA is below.

From the “Save Truck 11” website:

Why is this important?

Truck 11 is staffed by a diverse mix of highly skilled personnel who have chosen to work in and serve this community by providing the high level of protection and assistance you deserve and have come to expect. The crews of Truck 11, through years of experience and dedication, know this area: the streets, the buildings, and you, the people.
