He was Tony in the recent Broadway revival of West Side Story. So disappointing. He didn’t project any of his songs, and instead seemed to just smirk through the role. He also had a “Captain Kirk” delivery for every line. “The SHARKs and the JETS…..are gonna…..RUMble”. Marie deserved better!
So not true…I saw West Side Story with Matt twice and he was amazing. The chemistry between Tony and Maria was magical! He is on the cast recording, in which he sounded just like on stage…maybe even stronger. The cast recording just won the Grammy, so that should be proof alone. And by the way, the numbers for West Side Story have started slipping since he left. Some people just seem to have it in for this guy. Matt will be a great Superman and we need to trust the professionals, who are doing the hiring. If he were that horrible Bob, how does he keep getting work? Matt has quite an impressive resume, that continues to grow! Dallas is very fortunate to have such a talent in their city!
