My friend Jamey Jameson is directing “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” onstage at the Art Center Theater in Plano, and the show will run the last two weekends in October and the first weekend in November. And he tells me he is desperately in need of actors to play Rocky and Eddie.
Potential Rockys should be between the ages of 18 and 35, and big, buff and handsome. Race, hair color and so on are unimportant. Rocky doesn’t have to be the best singer in the world, but should be able to carry a tune. And — this part is as important as being buff — whoever takes the part needs to be comfortable “doing what Rocky does” — which basically is run around in a Speedo, wear fishnet stockings, let everybody in the cast grope him, and so on.
Eddie, for anyone who might not know, is the character that was played by the singer Meatloaf in the movie, and Jamey is looking for Meatloaf —or at least a good Meatloaf impersonator ‚ to play the role in this show. The perfect candidate would be a biker type who can REALLY sing while dancing.
If you don’t fit either of those roles but still want a shot at some time in the spotlight, Jamey says he also still needs “some men to dance around on stage and molest the audience. So if anyone just wants to come join and have some fun —but not learn any lines — come on!”
