Burch Law, a Dallas-based estate planning and probate law firm, is celebrating its 20th anniversary today (May 5), marking two decades of “helping Texas families protect their legacies with care, compassion, and a commitment to inclusion,” notes a press release announcing the milestone.
Founded in 2005 by Lorie L. Burch, a nationally-recognized attorney and advocate for inclusion and equality, “Burch Law has built its reputation on helping families protect their loved ones and legacies, especially those historically overlooked by the legal system,” the press release notes.
Burch and her law firm are perennial winners of “Best Civil/Family Attorney” honors in Dallas Voice’s annual Readers Voice Awards, including in this year’s awards which were announced in March.

Over the past 20 years, Burch Law has:
• helped thousands of clients create wills, trusts and estate plans that reflect their values.
• advocated for legal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals and families.
• partnered with community organizations and spoken on national platforms about legal protections and legacy planning.
• grown from a solo practice to a full-service team committed to client education, empowerment and support.
To mark the occasion, Burch Law hosted a special 20th anniversary celebration for friends, clients, family and business partners to honor the relationships and community support that have fueled the firm’s growth over the past two decades.
“We talk a lot about legacy planning, but when we talk about it, we mean the legacy of your life — who you are, what differences you’ve made, the people that matter to you,” Lorie Burch said. “It’s the story of your life. I look at all of you here celebrating today — clients, family, friends, some of you are all three — you are all a part of this story.”
