Annise Parker

Annise Parker announced today that Peter Brown endorsed her in the Houston mayoral runoff. In the Nov. 3 election, Parker came in first. Brown was third in the race despite having spent about $3.5 million of his own money. He is a Houston city councilmember. Parker is currently city controller.
In an email sent to Dallas voice, Parker wrote:

I’m so happy to share with you this breaking news…today we received the endorsement of our former opponent and candidate for mayor Peter Brown!

As you can imagine, this is incredibly exciting news for our campaign! I’m honored by his endorsement – Councilmember Brown has dedicated his life to improving the quality of life in Houston and I look forward to working together with him to lead Houston forward. This is a turning point in the campaign. We have a lot of work to do – but we are building the momentum we need to win on December 12.

Parker faces city attorney Gene Locke in the Dec. 12 runoff.
