1. LGBT advocates in Fort Worth say they’re troubled by the Police Department’s handling of an apparent anti-gay hate crime on May 23 in south Fort Worth, which we first told you about last Friday. As we reported this Monday, Fort Worth police are now investigating the attack as a hate crime, but advocates say authorities initially tried to downplay the incident, leaving anti-gay slurs out of their report and failing to classify the incident as a an aggravated assault. From today’s Star-Telegram: Tom Anable, president of Fairness Fort Worth, said Tuesday that he is troubled by the department’s handling of the case and has requested an investigation into the assault by the FBI. Among Anable’s concerns is that officers did not include the derogatory terms in their initial report and that the case was not assigned earlier for investigation as a potential hate crime. “It’s clear to me, based on what I know, the officers on the scene downplayed the report,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that after all the progress we’ve made, an incident like this has to come back to Fairness Fort Worth and we have to call the FBI,” said Anable, referring to the changes that have been made since a controversial inspection of the Rainbow Lounge, a gay bar, two years ago.
2. Gay California corrections officer Andrew Johnson will be allowed to march in uniform in Sunday’s West Hollywood Pride parade, after the state corrections department reversed its initial decision denying his request. The department’s decision to allow Johnson to march in uniform comes after he filed a sexual orientation discrimination complaint through his attorney, Gloria Allred.
3. CNN’s AC360 on Tuesday night aired part one of “The Sissy Boy Experiment,” a three-part series examining the consequences of an experimental “ex-gay” therapy program led by discredited psychologist George “Rent Boy” Rekers. Kirk Murphy, who was enrolled in the program at the age of 5, later took his own life at 38. Part two of the series airs tonight. Watch part one below.
Homosexuality is an intrinsic moral evil. When homosexuals demand civil rights that they in no way deserve, neither the Church nor society should be surprised when irrational and violent reactions increase.
Todd: I believe you are mistaking definitions. You see, by using the phrase, civil rights, I have come up with many definitions. I will post what I believe to be the most valid option here, but if you would like to check my references, please feel free:

I shall also quote the Declaration of Independence, which was written by a founding father of this nation:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Oops, I do apologizing for not addressing your reference to the Church. Since we live in America, we all have the right not to believe in your Church, given to us by the 1st Amendment, that self-same amendment that allows you to profess your opinions. Now, by using the word “irrational,” I believe you are making my statement for me. That is exactly what it is: irrational. Shall I provide this definition as well? Yes, I think I shall:
“without or deprived of normal mental clarity or soundjudgment.”
As to your opinion that homosexuality is an “intrinsic moral evil,” where is your proof? I will iterate that quoting the Bible does NOT constitute proof as, as I said before, by way of the 1st Amendment, not everyone needs to adhere to your religious opinions.
So, to sum this all up, as a human being, as stated forth in the Declaration of Independence, even homosexuals have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which may or may not include marriage (but i suppose that is a topic for another discussion), do have the right to be safe, and the right to live their life as they choose as long as it does not infringe upon the lives of others.
“Separation of Church and State” has no meaning to christians, just sayin’
Oops, i didn’t realize how old the first post was. Anyways, we should as a society feel sorry for a group of people who blindly follow a disgusting faith that believes in necromancy and magic. The world wasn’t created with your man – made religion. Christians would do good to remember that god didn’t create man, but that Man created god. Oh, also, I went to catholic school all my life and let me just say… christian ritual is no different than any ‘pagan’ ceremony, and will probably not stand the test of time, as the church steadfastly refuses to change with the times. Violent, crusading methods of conversion present in christianity are also prevalent in christianity’s great nemesis, islam. But we demonize muslims as being violent when in truth christians have been responsible for and killed more innocents in the history of the world then any other faith. Why should we be surprised when the christian church tacitly supports violence? It’s not ‘turn the other cheek’ it’s ‘turn the other cheek so i can beat your fucking face in some more’
