Dallas Police last week released an artist’s sketch, left, of the body found in White Rock Creek. This week, transgender activist Shannon Walker posted that sketch on Facebook next to a photo of Nicole Hall.

UPDATE: Friends have established this GoFundMe page to help Nicole Hall’s family pay for her final arrangements.

UPDATE: Shannon Walker said a vigil is being planned for Saturday, May 26, “around 7 p.m.” at the park area off Merriman Parkway near where Nicole Hall’s body was found. Watch for more details as they become available.

The black trans woman found in White Rock Creek on May 12 has been identified, thanks to help from trans activist Shannon Walker. The woman was known in the community as Nicole Hall; Dallas Police identified her using her legal name, Eric Hall, but also described her as “a 39-year-old black transgender female.”

Police said that the manner and cause of Hall’s death have not yet been determined, and that the investigation is ongoing. When her body was found, police described it as “in a severe stage of decomposition.”

This is what police released early Tuesday evening, May 23:
