Don’t strain your brain
Although the band hit it big in the early ’80s, Blondie’s hits never sound dated. Instead they sound cool and classic, much like singer Debbie Harry herself. But the band’s not too shabby either. See the band in the flesh as they bring back the new wave to Dallas.

Don’t Strain Your Brain?
Did the author of this single paragraph research the band or the lead singer Deborah Harry? I do not think so. The author makes a reference to the hits of the 80’s. If all the author knew of Blondie was their work of 30 years ago, they did not do the prerequiste research. Since the 80’s, Blondie and lead singer Deborah Harry have just released their ninth album, “Panic of Girls”. And the band has released three group albums before that and Deborah Harry has released five solo albums as well. In the UK and elsewhere, Blondie has had five hit singles, although they only made the top 100 in the US. Blondie is not a retro 80’s novelty band: they are a current group still evolving, innovating, and taking rock/pop in directions that no one else is taking the genre. I attended the 10/01 concert at the Grenada. Half or the music they performed was from the new album and the audience loved it. To appease the audience who held this author’s mind set that Blondie had reached their peak in the 80’s they performed 30 year old songs of which at this point, Deborah Harry has grown weary. But, Blondie gives its audience what they want: a concert spanning their thirty five year career. How many groups have survived as long as Blondie and are still releasing new material? This single paragraph discouraged people from attending the concert and not attending it. It was a great concert. But, it was not a return to the 80’s New Wave: it was a concert with new music that is still relevant at this time.
