She covered the song three years ago in “The Fighting Temptations” and then on her first tour, sounds like she just made a newer version for her new fragrance. It’s not bad, but only having heard it once, I’d say I prefer her first cover of it – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRZalHNp3WU
I gave the whole song a few listens but never warmed up to it. Her vid, although live, sounds much more genuine.
Jeez, can this girl go on vacation for a while? It’s as if she’s afraid that if she steps out of the spotlight for one minute, she’ll be forgotten. Perhaps people will see through all of the over vocalizing, overchoreographed dancing, and over photo retouching and realize how extremely overated this chick is and move on to the next overated, overhyped wanna be diva. .
WTF?? Her deep voice is amazing, one of the best. The song is so Hot and it is really good
Anthony is right.. it was on The Fighting Temptations that came out in 2003.. it was on the movie’s soundtrack and now is the theme song for her fragrance, Heat, that just came out..

I like the song! 🙂 and I love her! =D & I wouldn’t want her out of the spotlight! 🙂
Despite her overexposure, I continue to like her. She does good work and writes her own songs and that goes a long way. I think at times you can see some crazy diva eyes but she’s able to remain classy and interesting.
VJ has a point in his/her first couple of sentences. I may be interested in her next album but I’d be really interested if she stepped out of the spotlight for a while to come back with a new release.
I’m with VJ. I am sick and tired of Beyonce!! She’s so overexposed, she’s gotten to be just dull. Remember back in the day when artists’ waited years between projects?? You wanna see a true diva??? Sade’s new album comes out today. (I know Sade’s a band, but face it…it’s all about Miss Sade). Sade’s an international, mulitmillion album selling artist….and she’s only had 6 albums since 1984. A true Diva ain’t scared to go away for a looong while, and make us miss her.
Rich Lopez, do your homework before posting next time. This is not a “single”. As a few others stated, she recorded this back in 2003 for The Fighting Temptations movie soundtrack. Youtube it and you’ll hear probably one of the best covers of “Fever” made in the last 30 years.
Regarding her overexposure, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it or watch it. It’s that simple. And any man who is sick of seeing her just isn’t much of a man….
To: G (must stand for Girl). That’s right all macho, manly men must all listen to Beyonce. I don’t buy her stuff, or listen to that caterwaterlling she calls singing. But part of her overexposure is you can’t get away from her. Everytime I turn on the TV she hawking something or trying to convince me she’s talented. Lucikily, I like alternative rock music. I’m a man, not a queen…you queens can have Miss B.
It amazes me how these queens will get all huffy (G) about an artist that literally wouldn’t give a crap if they dropped dead….as long as they buy their crap.
Yeah sorry, big props to Beyonce for her performance instincts and business acumen. But I just can’t get around the incessant turkey warbling she does on EVERY SONG. Seriously, every song sound to me like 5 mins of her moaning and grunting to a piece of music.
@G. The Fighting Temptations version is a different recording altogether.
Jason, thanks from mentioning a REAL DIVA…SADE. You’ll be pleased to know, her first CD in since 2000’s fabulous Lover’s Rock was just released today and is already the number one album download on ITunes!! 10 years, no album, no interviews (she rarely gives them), no read carpet appearances, no magazine covers….and people can’t wait for her CD to drop. Thunder Thighs Beyonce, needs to learn what a true diva is. Sometimes less is so much more.
