Kitchen Dog takes over the Wyly with a chimp named ‘Trevor’

Kitchen Dog Theater has been itinerant for a few years (it should move into permanent digs next year), but it’s moving up … in a way. The company will take over the Studio Theatre on the 9th floor of the Wyly Theatre for a limited-run production of the regional premiere of Trevor, a true story about a famous chimpanzee (played by Max Hartman) — he once worked with Morgan Fairchild — at the center of a controversy. It sounds bananas!

‘Hamilton’ stars headline at DTC’s Centerstage gala

The news has been great this week for the Dallas Theater Center. On Monday, it was announced that the company would received the 2017 Tony Award for best regional theater in America, and this weekend two former cast members of the biggest show on Broadway, Hamilton, will headline at DTC’s gala fundraiser. Elizabeth Judd and Sydney James Harcourt, pictured — who will also perform in DTC’s world premiere Hood this summer — should be electrifying entertainment.
