2 big stars portray 2 big stars in ‘Empress/Pearl’

Bessie Smith and Janis Joplin where giants of the blues, but Dallas’ talent pool is almost as impressive: We have M. Denise Lee and Marisa Diotalevi, who team up to portray these legends of music with The Lady, The Empress and the Pearl, Part One: The Empress and the Pearl. They’ve already taken a piece o’ my heart, baby.

Dress down for charity at No Tie fundraiser for ASD

Dallas socialites love to dress up, to see and be seen at events like Bloomin’ Ball, DIFFA and Black Tie. But how about no tie? That’s the idea behind this annual fundraiser benefitting AIDS Services of Dallas. There’s kind of no dinner, either — or rather, you attend a dinner hosted by individuals, then all gather at the Frontiers of Flight Museum for dessert and silent auction. (One of the honorary co-chairs this year is Marie Reyes, one of the upcoming Real Housewives of Dallas, so you can even get a selfie with her before the show airs!) And dress elegantly and chic … just no neckwear!
