Nov. 21: ‘La Belle et la Bête’
Fort Worth Opera’s La Belle et la Bệte, combining live opera with Jean Cocteau’s 1946 film, starts at 7:30 p.m. at Ridglea Theater, 6025 Camp Bowie Blvd. This production also launches the Opera’s Pay What You Can program, sponsored by the Claytor Family Charitable Foundation, offering audiences the chance to experience world-class opera at an accessible price. Bruce Wood Dance launches its Season 16 with Glow, which unites three groundbreaking works, including a new work by former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Robert Battle, Concerto Six Twenty-Two by Lar Lubovitch and No Sea to Sail In by Bruce Wood. Nov. 22: Third Annual Biscuits & Gravy Cookoff

Nov. 22: Food Distribution Event
North Texas Food Bank, in partnership with University of Texas at Dallas, Tom Thumb/Albertsons and UNIQLO, hosts a Thanksgiving food distribution event for families in need from 9 a.m.-noon or while supplies last on the UNT Dallas Campus, 7300 University Hills Blvd. This is a drive-through event open to the public.

SPCA of Texas presents its 35th annual Home for the Holidays events at NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expressway. “Bark & Build” showcases exclusive, state-of-the-art dog homes and cat condos, designed and created in collaboration with American Institute of Architects Dallas and TEXO, The Construction Association. The “Adoption Pavilion” will feature animals of all ages and sizes available for adoption and holiday merchandise for people and pets.

Dallas drag legend Cassie Nova hosts her annual fundraising event, Cassie’s Freakmas Holiday Party, starting at 8 p.m. at JR’s Bar & Grill, 3923 Cedar Springs Road. The party includes raffles and auctions and is open to everyone age 21 and older. Proceeds benefit the Secret Santa program of the Persionalized Learning Preparatory program at the JW Ray Learning Center, formerly Sam Houston Elementary School, to make sure kids who might not otherwise get a Christmas gift get to celebrate presents from Santa.
