Oct. 17: History and Practice of Photography
The Meadows Museum at SMU, 5900 Bishop Blvd., in conjunction with exhibitions featuring the work of Laura Wilson and Manuel Álvaarez Bravo, continues its Luis Martín Lecture Series in the Humanities with a presentation by Frederico Cámara, assistant professor of photography at SMU, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., on “Becoming Panoramic: A Presentation by the Artist Frederico Cámara.” The four-part series is free form SMU faculty, staff, students and museum members, and is $60 for others.
Oct. 17: ‘Fright at the Museum’
Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place in McKinney, hosts Fright at the Museum, a special event for adults ages 21 and older featuring a screening of Shaun of the Dead in the outdoor amphitheater, a trick-or-treat trail, a haunted forest, a costume contest and more, with food available for purchase.
