Learn history; don’t repeat it
As the saying goes, “Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.” Some days, looking at the antics of the extreme rightwing in this country, it seems we’re seeing that played out in real time. Do your part to learn some very important history with a special themed and docent-led tour of the permanent exhibition at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, 300 N. Houston St., on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12-$16; learn more and register online at DHHRM.org.

You can always go … Downtown!
We love our gayborhood, no doubt. But sometimes, we want to venture out beyond the boundaries of Oak Lawn and visit strange, new places. You know, like Downtown Dallas. And City Tavern, 1514 Elm St., is ready and waiting each week with Pride Wednesday. Check out their Facebook page, Facebook.com/CityTavernDallas, for all the daily specials and other events.
