Closing ceremonies take place on The Strip Saturday night, Sept. 3. The Miss Gay Texas State/State at Large Pageant System puts a twist on pageantry: It is a charity system, and raising money for nonprofits serving the LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS communities is a primary focus for candidates and titleholders. New Miss Gay Texas State and Miss Gay Texas State at Large queens will be crowned at the state pageant Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3-4, at Urban Cowboy Saloon, 2620 E. Lancaster Road in Fort Worth. Doors open at 5 p.m. each night.
