You can’t keep good fashion down. For the last two years, Legal Hospice of Texas annual fundraiser, Fashion Cited, has been on hold due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But the event is finally “pressing play” and is returning Saturday, Aug. 27, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at The Empire Room, 1225 N. Riverfront Blvd., presented by Le Métier de Beauté. This year’s honorary chair is Kellie Rasberry, right, and Amy Vanderoef, left, is emcee. Tickets range from $100-$7,500 and are available online at EventBrite.com.

All the world’s a stage …
… but the plays on that stage have limited runs! This is the last weekend for both Mamma Mia! at Lyric Stage, the company’s 2022-23 season opener, and for The Little Dog Laughed, Uptown Players’ production of the Carter Beane drama. Final shows for both are on Sunday, Aug. 28.

Saaa-WING BATTER!
Softball teams from 46 cities across North America are converging on DFW beginning Sunday, Aug. 28, for the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance’s 2022 Gay Softball World Series. Opening ceremonies are Monday, Aug. 29, 5-9 p.m. at Gilley’s, and closing ceremonies are Saturday, Sept. 3, in the gayborhood. In between will be a week’s worth of world-class softball being played at five different venues around the Metroplex. See David Taffet’s story on page 8 of this issue of Dallas Voice or visit the series website, DallasGSWS.org, for all the details.
