June 5: MetroBall 19

MetroBall 19, the signature annual fundraising dance party for the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund, will be held at Station 4, 3911 Cedar Springs Road from 6:30-10 p.m., featuring performances by Cheyenne Jackson, Kameron Ross and Brian Mason. SPARK! Dallas presents SPARK! City, an immersive public art exhibition celebrating Dallas neighborhoods including Downtown/Uptown, Deep Ellum, Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts, Vickery Meadow and The Cedars. Each neighborhood is brought to life through original artwork and immersive installations created by students from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Emmett J. Conrad High School, and Dallas artist Erika Bauer. The exhibit is open Saturdays from 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Sundays from 1–5 p.m., and select weekdays from 1–5 p.m. during FIFA Family Days. June 6: Dallas Pride Festival of Rainbows and Sunset Parade
Dallas Pride moves from Fair Park to downtown Dallas this year. The Festival of Rainbows begins at 11 a.m. in four parks: the Main Street Festival at Main Street Gardens,the Community Festival at Pacific Plaza, Teen Pride and Family Pride at Harwood Park and the Parade Festival and VIP Experience at Pegasus Plaza. Through June 7: ‘Float,’ a one-woman show

McKinney Pride, the city’s annual celebration of love, equality and community, takes place from 1-4 p.m. at Dr. Glenn Mitchell Memorial Park, 300 W. Louisiana St. The event includes queer-affirming vendors and businesses supporting the LGBTQ+ community, as well as local artisans and makers, nonprofits and wellness and more. In a collaborative project of Badge of Pride, The Dallas Way, Dallas Social Queer Organization and the Coalition for Aging Collaboration, members of the community are asked to bring their old bar photos from fun times in the LGBTQ+ bars throughout Dallas’ history to have them scanned to become party of the archives of the city and Texas, from 6-8 p.m. at Oak Lawn Place, 5723 Sadler Circle. Sister Helen Holy will emcee the event. All photos will be scanned and the originals returned to the owners that night. The photos shared in this event become part of the living public record and a fall exhibition presented through the Portal to Texas History, at no cost to the owners of the photos.
