Get a tour of history
Philosopher George Santayana warned us in 1905 that “Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.” Then in 1948, in a speech to the House of Commons, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill paraphrased, “Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.” The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum gives you the chance, every Sunday at 2 p.m., to learn a bit about one of the most momentous periods of recent history with special themed tours of the museum’s permanent exhibit, which includes three wings: The Shoah Wing dedicated to the Holocaust, the Human Rights Wing which includes exhibits on the International Military Tribunal and the creation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Pivot to America Wing that includes exhibits on African-American civil rights, American Indians rights, LGBTQ rights and more. Get to know the candidates
Stonewall Democrats of Dallas will be screening candidates in the 2022 primary races over the course of five days in January — Jan. 9, 11, 13, 15, 16 — before issuing endorsements in primary elections. If the last five years have taught us nothing else, they have taught us, without a doubt, that every election matters. And to be a good voter, you need to be an informed voter. These screening sessions are a great way to become an informed voter. Visit StonewallDemocratsOfDallas.org for details.
