‘Band’s Visit’ marches into Winspear

Heralded as one of the best musicals of the 2010s, The Band’s Visit gave Broadway audiences a taste of authentic Middle Eastern characters void of negative stereotypes in a compelling story of companionship. An Egyptian police orchestra arrives lost in foreign land — a small town in Israel — but with help from a new acquaintance, the band discovers beauty away from home. Based on the 2007 film of the same name, this winner of 10 Tony Awards, featuring all the musicians onstage, makes its regional debut as a co-production of Dallas Summer Musicals and the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
