Here’s something you’ll never see in Dallas. This is the self-serve bar in the lobby of Austin City Hall earlier tonight at a kickoff reception for the Texas Stonewall Democrats convention. I’m sure this post will result in more “what have they done for me lately?” comments from “Not Rich,” but I’d say that so far, those who paid the $75 registration fee for the convention are getting their money’s worth!!!
I am a bit confused. I have been in Paris all week, so I think I missed something again.
As I understand it, membership in Stonewall Democrats is voluntary. As a gay person who votes Democratic most of the time, you are not REQUIRED to be a member of Stonewall Democrats.
Ergo, what little money they do raise through membership dues and fundraisers is given to them voluntarily. It is not taken in the form of some tax, or mandatory fee that gays pay when they order a drink at J.R.’s.
The point thus being. If you don’t like Stonewall Democrats or how they spend their money (Not Rich) then don’t join the group and don’t give them money.
Did I miss something?
I love both Stonewall Democrats and Log Cabin Republicans, because those of us in the reality based world, realize that LGBT people need a voice inside of both major political parties. Because Lord knows, you’re not gonna get anything done standing on the side of the road screaming at passing cars.
Yes, I read how well that meeting with Cinemark went down.
The way I read it and the way I heard it, the Garcia’s got their ass handed to them on a plate.
Did they score some free passes for their pals?
Tingle
Don’t worry about it, everyone gets confused after being in Paris for a week.
Ergo, you did not miss a thing.
And yes the Lord knows everything.
Free liquor inside Dallas City Hall would probably make council meetings more exciting. Although I think a lot of council members may already be drinking heavily when they come up with things like toll roads inside a levee system or a hotel owned by a city.
You’re missing the point, sugar. That thar’s TEXAS vodka!
