Will Just Cookies, the Indianapolis bakery, lose its lease in a city-owned market for refusing to bake rainbow cupcakes for local college gays? They shouldn't, say the authors of the city's human rights ordinance. Jesus.

I’m gay, and from Indy, and I still have reservations about the whole thing. I certainly think the shop owner was wrong to do and say what he did … and I’m still a bit shocked over the whole thing … but it’s not like he simply denied gays service. He wouldn’t make a product for a still politicized event he didn’t agree with. Kinda like of he wouldn’t make something for black expo. Wrong, but perhaps not illegal.
PS: I’m curious what would have happened if someone he knew to be gay went in to buy something off the shelf. If he turned him away just for being gay, then yea … the discrimination ordinance should apply for sure.
