Okla state Rep. Emily Virgin

Oklahoma Democratic state Rep. Emily Virgin from Norman has proposed an amendment to The Oklahoma Religious Freedom Act that would allow businesses to discriminate, according to the Gayly Oklahoman.
If the bill that allows religious freedom passes, businesses that don’t want to provide services for same-sex weddings will have an out. Virgin’s amendment agrees that it’s fine to discriminate, but allows business owners and potential customers to avoid the embarrassment of having the discussion.
Businesses that want to discriminate will have to post a notice that for religious reasons, that business will not do business with you because of your race, sexual orientation or gender identity. That notice would have to be clearly posted in the business and on the website.
That way, a straight couple that wouldn’t have been turned away would be notified that they’re doing business with bigots and might want to find an alternate vendor as well.
