With the 205 anti-LGBTQ bills introduced in the 2025 Texas Legislature looming over the community, All In For Equality Coalition has announced its advocacy day at the Texas Capitol, happening Monday, March 24.
The coalition includes the ACLU of Texas, Equality Texas, Lambda Legal, Texas Freedom Network and Human Rights Campaign.
More than 1,000 Texans are expected to attend Monday’s event, which will include a march up Congress Avenue to rally on the steps of the Capitol, the press release said.

The march starts at 11:30 a.m. on Congress Avenue between the Paramount and the Texas Capitol. The rally follows at noon on the south steps of the Capitol building.
Speakers will include Equality Texas Interim CEO Brad Pritchett, Human Rights Campaign volunteer Morgan Davis, ACLU of Texas Policy and Advocacy Strategist Ash Hall. Lambda Legal South Central Regional Director Shelly Skeen, Texas Freedom Network President and Executive Director Felecia Martin, The Mahogany Project Founder and Executive Director Verniss McFarland, Anna Nguyen with Rainbow Connections, Black Freedom Factory Founder and Chief Executive Director Kimiya Factory and Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Mission Executive Director Erin Walter.
The 205 bills filed by Texas lawmakers is more than have been filed in any other state ever, according to a press release from the coalition.
In addition, Gov. Greg Abbott, in his recent State of the State Address, threatened to fire any teacher that supports social transition of their students, and he has begun to deliver on that promise, investigating a school in Houston for supporting social transition.
At the same time, the Trump administration is trying to remove trans people from the miliary, censor classroom discussion about LGBTQ issues and impose a narrow definition of gender that seems intended to erase trans people from public life completely.
