Family and friends are looking for Jeffrey Combs, a gay man who has been missing since May 20, according to his mother, Joanna Combs.

Joanna Combs and Jeffrey’s aunt, Theresa Sweat, have come to Dallas from Indianapolis this weekend to look for him, and Joanna Combs said she was told her son was seen in the Oak Lawn area about the last time she spoke to him.

“We have been here [on Cedar Springs] all day [Saturday, June 2], going from shop to shop and from bar to bar, passing out flyers and talking to people, but we aren’t having much luck,” Sweat said, adding that she and Joanna Combs have filed a missing person report with police.

“We don’t know where he would go. He doesn’t have any family here or any friends,” Sweat said.

Joanna Combs said Jeffrey had moved to Richardson from Indianapolis with a friend, but Combs roommates asked him to leave the home after a disagreement. Joanna Combs said she believes that happened sometime around May 15.

“I know he was out on the streets on his birthday, which was May 17,” Joanna Combs said. “I talked to him last on May 20, and he was sleeping on a bench in a park in Richardson then.”

Joanna Combs said her son has always kept in touch, and that he would “text me or call me or Facetime me every day. Ever since then, I have texted and texted and called and Facetimed, and nothing. No response. May 20 — that was the last day I talked to him at all.”

Joanna Combs said that someone at Cedar Springs Taphouse told her they had seen Jeffrey there recently, and someone at a different shop on Cedar Springs Road — she didn’t remember the name — said they had seem him within the last two or three weeks, also.
