A co-host of the Dallas morning show The Broadcast, walked off the set Wednesday after arguing with other co-hosts about Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend after he received a call telling him the St. Louis Rams had drafted him.
“When parents do not have a choice about whether or not they want their children to see this, it is wrong,” Amy Kushnir said before she stomped off the set. “He has every right to do what he wants, I just don’t want it in my face.”
Two other hosts countered and asked Kushnir if she objected to straight couples kissing in romantic movies. She evaded the questions but said she didn’t agree that Sam receiving the news from the Rams was cause for a celebration. Kushnir said ESPN was being intentionally sensational.
“ESPN would not have aired any of it had he been kissing his wife,” Kushnir said. “This was an opportunity to make news.”
The homophobe finally walked off the set after two other hosts continued to challenge her points.
