Abilene Christian University has banned student employees from being in same-sex relationships. The university already banned its faculty and staff from being in same-sex relationships.
Despite — and in apparent contradiction to — those new rules, school policy still states, “We affirm the dignity and worth of all human beings, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.”
In a news article on its website, ACU wrote that it provides this guidance for its administrators:
We affirm the dignity and worth of every person as created in God’s image. ACU affirms the full humanity and dignity of all human beings, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We recognize there are individuals who identify as LGBT or who experience same-sex attraction within our community. We strive to love and welcome all individuals.
Although it recognizes every person is created in God’s image and it recognizes people have same-sex attraction and the school welcomes these people, that no longer means the school has to put up with gays and lesbians actually having relationships and leading happy and productive lives.
The new policy doesn’t apply to its students, but they surely feel very welcomed on that campus.
Although ACU’s campus is in Abilene, about 150 miles west of Fort Worth, the college’s online campus is located on Dallas Parkway in Addison.

How is it even legal to put such a limitation on a person in the united states of america? SHAMEFUL.
As a graduate of ACU, I am not shocked at what laws they break in the name of God. They certainly do not practice the teachings of Jesus. By the time I got out of that institution, I was sure I no longer wanted to practice what they preached. Hypocracy is a horrible thing. Inclusion as long as it doesn’t get the money contributors too riled up!!!! I stopped contributing to ACU because of the hate and discrimination it promotes. They put “Duck Dynasty” members on a pedestal as they like their hateful message, as well as that of the Donald. I told one of ACU’s students, when she called to ask for a donation, that I would donate as soon as a same sex couple got married in Moody Coliseum, during daily mandatory chapel. I stated I was a proud gay man and that them asking me to donate was offensive. They spend your hard earned money, as they condemn you to hell. How very CHRISTIAN. All GLBTQ graduates of ACU should stop any contributions until they actually start acting like the Savier they claim to serve.
I’m in the same situation. I’ve donated money to my institution for years now but have requested to not be contacted until an apology was drafted for the hateful rhetoric coming from the elders
