Greetings: It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest wishes to the LGBTQ+ community across Dallas-Fort Worth in celebration of Pride Month. This month is a time to honor the courage, strength and joy that define this community while recognizing the ongoing fight for equality, dignity and justice.
The LGBTQ+ community in North Texas has long stood as a beacon of visibility and strength. I pay homage to the trailblazers whose courage made Pride possible. Their legacy reminds us that living authentically is both an act of resistance and a celebration of self.
Despite draconian attacks on civil liberties, the community’s advocacy, presence and pride make our Metroplex stronger and more inclusive for all.
As a proud member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I remain committed to advancing federal protections for LGBTQ+ rights and pushing back against harmful, discriminatory policies. I am proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community in TX-30 and beyond.
May this Pride be both a celebration of love and a reminder of the strength found in unity.
