ORIGINAL POST
Two people are dead including the shooter and two are in critical condition after a gunman in an adjacent building started shooting at Dallas ICE headquarters on I-35 at Empire Central at about 6:30 a.m. today.
The wounded were ICE detainees and the shooter took his own life.
Stemmons Freeway was shut down for more than two hours as more than 40 police units responded to the incident. Northbound traffic backed up past downtown and southbound backed up into Irving. Side streets were just as congested — Market Center Boulevard backed up from the highway to Oak Lawn Avenue in the Design District.
“Anti-ICE” was written on one of the bullets recovered by the FBI.
State Rep. Rafael Anchia posted this to X: This morning, a shooting occurred at a Dallas ICE facility in House District 103. Two individuals were hospitalized, one victim has died, and the shooter died from a self-inflicted wound. No law enforcement was injured. The investigation remains ongoing, and my office is closely monitoring developments. In light of ongoing violence, our community feels the weight of this tragedy.
