Ashlea-Harris

Ashlea Harris

The man convicted of murdering Ashlea Ann Harris on Nov. 24, 2014 have both been sentenced to life in prison without parole, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. His co-defendant, a woman, was convicted and sentenced to life without parole in a separate trial in May, 2016.
Clarence David Mallory, 22, and Carter Carol Cervantes, 28, followed Harris, then 31, home from her job as assistant manager at the American Eagle Outfitters store in Hulen Mall. They taped her hands and feet together, cut her throat and then set her apartment on fire.
Investigators believe the two killed Harris so they could steal her keys to the store, planning to go back to the store later and steal cash four days later on Black Friday. The three had worked together at the store and Cervantez had also been an assistant manager, although Cervantex and Mallory had been fired after being suspected of stealing nearly $18,000 during the final week of back-to-school sales the previous August.
