Dallas-based designer Ramiro Rodriguez offers a versatile, bespoke swimwear line, RAMRODD, catering to a variety of body types, with a particular focus on thicker and beefier physiques.
Rodriguez launched the brand after his partner struggled to find stylish, affordable swimwear in sizes larger than extra-large, prompting him to design cute and fun prints in sizes up to 3XL. Rodriguez, who moved here from Mexico and learned sewing from his grandmother, earned a fashion degree from the Art Institute of Dallas. He runs RAMRODD as a one-man show, doing everything from cutting patterns to managing the website. His designs often sell out at events like Texas Bear Round-Up, and they are also available at his online shop.
Over time, he has also expanded his inventory to include crop tops, undies, crossbody bags and bucket caps. For those with a specific look in mind, customers can even collaborate directly with Rodriguez to request custom-made swimwear featuring extravagant details, like rhinestones or spikes — because who doesn’t need a bit of extra at the pool?!
