• Michael Champion, aka Sable Alexander, 61, died Jan. 12 of COVID-19 after contracting the virus while caring for patients.
• Siegfried Fischbacher, 81, half of the Las Vegas magic act Siegfried and Roy, died of pancreatic cancer on Jan. 13.
• John Patrick Tester, 61, died Jan. 29.
• David Andrew Smith, 65, died March 25 of an aneurysm.
• Gregory Scott Waite, 62, died unexpectedly on May 23.
• Kay Lahusen, 91, a pioneering gay rights activist, died May 26.
• Rose “Rosie” Flores, died on April 5.
• Larry Derrick, 61, died in July after a seven-month battle with throat cancer.
• Mark Wilson, 64, died July 18 after an 18-month battle with post-COVID 19 lung disease.
• Janice Kathryn Taylor, 75, died July 25 following two severe strokes.
• James Hormel, 88, the first openly gay U.S. ambassador, died Aug. 13.
• Fantasha Suggs, well-known drag performer and Red Room cast member, died suddenly on Aug. 21.
• Willie Garson, 57, actor on Sex And The City, died Sept 21.
• Daniel Milner Sikora, 53, owner of Zephyr and Thairrific.
• Brandon Shane Perkins, 34, died Oct. 11.
• Timothy John Taylor, 70, died Oct. 9 following a battle with cancer.
• Stephen Sondheim, 91, died Nov. 26.
• Bruce Monroe, 65, died Dec. 4 following a seven-and-a-half-year battle with ataxia. Monroe was one of the early HIV/AIDS activists in Dallas, and had fought for LGBTQ civil rights for many years.
