It’s not just Kinky Boots — gay director, writer, producer, star and subject matter — that give queer appeal to the current B’way season. As usual, the new crop includes numerous gay-interest productions, among them:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s, pictured above — The stage adaptation of Truman Capote’s acclaimed novella, with the gay gigolo once again gay (he was neutered and heterogenized in the 1962 movie version).

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike — Gay scribe Christopher Durang enlists best pal Sigourney Weaver plus David Hyde Pierce for this modern-day farce.

Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche, above — Since opening last fall, this off-Broadway comedy (Performed only one weekend a month) has become a cult hit, as the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein gather in 1956 for a little nosh and gossip.
