Just because the weather has turned cooler doesn’t mean you have to huddle indoors in heavy sweaters. Certainly the bartenders from Bar10 won’t be on Friday as they serve up Van Gogh vodka at Dick’s Night Out, the monthly-or-so free happy hour at the al fresco friendly Ku•De•Ta. Charlie Phresh will be spinning and so will your eyes. Kick off the weekend right.

Perot Museum officially opens
Three years in the making, the Borg cube along Woodall Rodgers that houses the Perot Museum of Nature and Science has taunted Dallasites with the promise of elaborate exhibits inside. And guest what? They are pretty spectacular, especially for young folks curious about the universe. Its grand opening — ahead of schedule — takes place Saturday, but there’s never a bad time to check out the fun.

Theatre Britain’s holiday panto returns
Call us big kids at heart, but we love Theatre Britain’s annual Christmas panto — an English traditional children’s show featuring hammy acting, colorful set, audience participation, a simple plot stolen from fairy tales and mythology … and lots of cross-dressing bawdy humor. OK, so maybe it’s not our kid side that gets a kick out of men
in dresses making salacious (but surrepticiously
child-friendly) jokes. This year’s offering is Mother Goose. I can already hear the puns rolling off.
