RCDvandals

Last week we reported that vandals have targeted Resource Center Dallas on at least four occasions in the last few months, breaking numerous windows with rocks and damaging a fence and an employee’s vehicle. Police have no suspects, and it’s unclear whether the incidents were motivated by anti-gay bias. Last night, Resource Center Dallas’ Rafael McDonnell released five video clips showing the suspects in the act. The footage was taken from the camera monitoring the center’s back alley on three separate dates.

“If anybody knows who these young people are, please call Dallas Police,” McDonnell wrote.

The main number for DPD is 214-671-3001. Below are the clips along with McDonnell’s description of each.

The file dated 08-19-2013 is the image for the case number 212709A. In the video the young man breaks a glass bottle in the ally which startled the staff sitting near that location. Immediately after this incident, the same person busted six boards that are part of our perimeter parking lot fence. Those boards were broken with a rock or the persons fist. One of our employees cars was damaged and a separate case number was created at that time.

The file dated 08-16-2013, the same young person, or someone wearing the same clothes, seems to have discovered the location of the camera. At the end of that video you will see rocks that were thrown at the camera housing. Police were not called on this incident.

The three files dated 07-26-2013, show three young people breaking five windows in the same area on this property. Police were not called on this incident.

Police were called on two other prior incidents, but there is no video of those incidents. Total of nine additional windows were broken at those times.
